Role Overview

We are looking for:

  • The market intelligence manager will become a key contributor to the thorough market understanding of key markets for Aroma. This person will be driving analysis on the competitive landscape, dynamics of the market and news, with a focus on the APAC market and support on more ad hoc projects as well as the MTP process

    The market intelligence manager will be well connected with the (Asian) commercial teams, industrial teams and other functions, to combine insights from trade statistics, desk research, info from external sources and the knowledge of the Aroma team in the different functions on the field.

We count on you for: (Challenges, performance objectives)

  • Competitive watch:

    • Identifying new projects and assessing progress, based on discussions with the commercial & industrial teams, as well as ensuring confirmation from the field

    • Ensuring thorough understanding of key competitors, incl. takeaways from quarterly or yearly financial results of key competitors,

    • Consolidating the different insights and driving conclusions

  • Demand dynamics:

    • Support our understanding of global market demand evolution; historically amongst others through import / export stat consolidation, and forward looking through market reports, insights from the commercial teams, expert calls etc.

    • Analyzing behavior of (Apac) competitors & demand evolution through import / export statistics complemented with analysis

  • Ad hoc projects:

    • Being a key contact person for the commercial team to help address marketing and intelligence questions

    • Support on various projects either for the core or for naturals, e.g. market understanding for new segments

  • Contributing to the yearly MTP (mid term plan; 5 year strategy) exercise creating a full view of supply / demand globally for our key products

  • News: search for news from competitors, customers, consumer behavior in the key markets for Aroma, to be shared with the organization in a digestible format

  • Reporting/dashboards: Ensure update of various monthly dashboards, improve the reporting to the right stakeholders and be available for further analysis when required

  • Local market intelligence / natural players: Be part of local network & identify natural ingredient companies in line with the Aroma naturals buy & build strategy to help feed the M&A pipeline

You will bring: (Education and experience, technical skills, desired behaviors)

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Good connection with the APAC commercial teams, industrial function etc.

  • Proactively coming up with new ideas on how to improve the intelligence practices,

  • Independent worker but with team spirit

  • Fluent in Chinese & English

  • 5+ years of experience in market intelligence activities or similar profiles

  • Background in chemicals and/or economics are a plus

  • Experience in industrial / chemical company

  • Role will be based in China
