Demand & Supply Planner [Philippines]


 

JOB DESCRIPTION

They are responsible for ensuring effective availability of materials to stores when required. They see both short- and long-term product velocity and inventory at risk, thus can provide a trigger point for the team to come up with recovery plans and still hit Sales Goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Demand Planning Duties: These duties are related to the inventory stock of the company, ensuring that all the products are available and ready in a timely manner

Contractual duties: Enforcement of the Contract is one of the important tasks which are initiated by the Supply Chain. The planner deals with service providers&/or suppliers; he/she must negotiate, prepare and execute contracts

Analytical duties: The analytical duties focus on the changing demands of the people and how to bring about upgrades, advancements, and updates based on the data being analyzed. The buyer must be familiar with the market trend and possess the desired knowledge to take the right decision. The buyer is involved with running reports, finding problems, or creating better processes to become more efficient.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-Generates monthly baseline demand forecast per Menu Item with corresponding
imported and local raw materials
-Translates Marketing initiatives & calendar to demand and develop a corresponding
supply plan
-Conducts consensus meeting among Marketing, R&D, Ops, SC and Finance for the
agreed Operations Plan for the frozen and firmed months (3+1 for imported and 1+1
for local) based on the constraint (ex: Budget)
-Placement of orders based on the demand and supply analysis for imported and local
items
-Key partner of marketing in capturing the fluctuations of demand of New Product
Introductions (NPI). Gatekeeps NPI based on ADQ, Leadtime and availability
-Source, negotiate, and procure items (Food and Non-food) to support NPI and other
marketing and department initiatives
-Counterchecks Multi-M’s ordering, importation ETA’s, inventory levels and freshness
compliance. Ensures that all assumptions baked into the demand forecast are
corrected in the next review cycle
-Leads daily review of OS, Critical Items, Recovery Plan, NPI/Promo and inventory at risk
-Pro-act on potential excess, near expiry, slow-moving and obsolete stocks w/ Multi-
M, R&D, Finance for potential recoveries.
-Escalate to stakeholders on the current OS and potential product shortage; Develop a
quick recovery plan and closed-loop w/ partners until completion of action plans
-Plans a phase-in/phase-out of RM SKU’s, especially on SKU’s that are affected by
Localization Project and ensures crisp communication to the distributor, Mktg/ RND to
avoid disruptions or unserved
-Sets the monthly review of the distributors KPI (Fill rate, OTD, DIO, Freshness/ Expiry,
IRA)
-Does periodic comparison of supposed sales by Ops based on ADQ vs actual
-Generates reports assigned by the SC Director
-Perform other task and functions that maybe assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Educational background in Engineering, Business Commerce, Economics or Finance
-MBA Degree/Units or CPM certification is an advantage
-2+ years purchasing experience, preferably within an FMCG, QSR or manufacturing
environment
-Background in Supply Chain, Logistics and international trade

PROJECT AND CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

-Able to prepare, create and review demand and supply planning processes and policies
-Able to Master Data Maintenance
-Able to perform project management lead role
-Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the components of supply chain
functions
-Computer literate (Microsoft office and advanced Excel skills)
-In depth experienced with purchasing ERP or order management system.
